Social Media Consulting

My social media consulting experience

As my playlists grew more successful and captured a larger audience, there was a definite uptick in the number of messages I was getting from artists and other parties in the music industry.  But something had changed. Besides the usual requests to add their music to my playlists,  people started asking me for feedback and social media advice. It didn’t take me long to figure out what was happening here.

See, from the early days on, when artists would ask me to add their music to my playlists, I would always give honest and detailed feedback, pro bono.  Apart from feedback about their music, this would often enough include a quick social media audit.  Apparently, people appreciated what I was doing and word got out. Online word-of-mouth has a very powerful voice, never to be underestimated.

As a result of this, I grew into the role and made it my own. Nowadays I provide social media advice to artists and labels, but also clients outside of the music industry.  However, due to time constraints, I can no longer afford to do this pro bono.  A man gotta eat.

Digital marketing has evolved into a hugely important aspect for any artist or record label. In many ways, if you want to get heard you have to be seen first.  That is where I can help.

How I can help

My area of expertise is the music industry: artists and record labels make up the bulk of my clients. I help with their branding and social media profiles resulting in an increase in their organic traffic and overall exposure. My content strategies maximize community growth and content efficiency.

Focus lays heavily on the social media platforms that are particularly relevant to the music industry:  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SoundCloud, and YouTube. Furthermore, I provide SEO services not only focused on Google but also on other platforms like YouTube and Spotify.
